Wilferd L. “Willie” Yndestad, 82, Ottumwa, Iowa, a town of Lanark native and former Stevens Point resident, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah after a massive stroke.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. Timothy Curtiss officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services.
The family requests memorials be given to Bethany Baptist Church or Forest Lake Camp.

Mr. Yndestad was born April 8, 1932, in the town of Lanark, a son of the late Hobart and Sarah (Grimland) Yndestad.
He was married to Rene Ulrich Feb. 27, 1965.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a radio repairman during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.
He worked for the Soo Line Railroad for 39 years.
He was a member and officer of the Sunnfjordlaget group for many years.
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Ottumwa and Memorial Baptist Church in Fond du Lac.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rene; four daughters, Wendy (Chad) Toopes, Tamra (Steve) Foster and Pam and Rolanda Yndestad; one brother, Delmer (Vera) Yndestad, Hudson; and three grandchildren, Jordan and Christopher Toopes and Brianna Foster.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine “Gerry” Shepardson.
