A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at St. John Catholic Church in Marshfield with her sons, Rev. Alan T. Burkhardt and Deacon Ervin A. Burkhardt, and the Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.
Visitation will be at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. St. John’s Parish Council of Catholic Women will pray the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial will be established for Prayer Shawl Ministry at various parishes.

Mrs. Burkhardt was born April 9, 1925, in the town of Auburndale, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Ertl) Schneider. She attended St. Joseph Parochial School in Hewitt.
She was married to Lester B. Burkhardt April 23, 1952, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Hewitt. He died Feb. 21, 2002.
She had worked as a waitress and was a housewife.
She knitted and crocheted, donating many dish cloths and afghans to various charities. She created many shawls for various parishes prayer shawl ministries. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, sang in the church choir and worked for funeral luncheons.
For a brief time she was a resident at Our House Memory Care in Wausau.
Survivors include two sons, Deacon Ervin A. Burkhardt and Rev. Alan T. Burkhardt, both of Wausau; three brothers, Arthur Schneider and Bernard Schneider, both of Marshfield, and Leo Schneider, Auburndale; three sisters, Agnes (Clarence) Stini, Cecelia Wolf and Anna Lapinski, all of Marshfield; three sisters-in-law, JoHanna Schneider, Wisconsin Rapids, Elaine Schneider, Auburndale, and Virginia Johnson, Marshfield; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Alois, Edmund, Joseph, Norbert and Peter Schneider.
