Gerald “Garry” L. Weisbrot, 63, Stevens Point, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield from complications due to primary amyloidosis.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, at Boston Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Friday until the service.

Mr. Weisbrot was born May 16, 1950, in Stevens Point, a son of Isla (Finnessey) Weisbrot and the late Nicholas Weisbrot. He attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School Class of 1968.
He attended The National School of Heavy Equipment in Charlotte, N.C., graduating in 1972.
Following school, he apprenticed in Tampa, Fla., before returning to Stevens Point to work for the Soo Line Railroad for 11 years.
He then worked as a crane operator with Local 139, most prominently with Miron Construction. He retired in 2009 due to illness.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in May 1970. He served as a private first class in the 101st Battalion Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) at Fort Campbell, Ky. He was later honorably discharged at Fort Polk, La.
He was married to Kathleen Kedrowski Nov. 24, 1972, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, Stevens Point; three children, Jason (Becky), Stevens Point, Elliot (Erin O’Connell), Stevens Point, and Jennifer (Gerald) Bemowski, Junction City; his mother, Isla Weisbrot, Stevens Point; his siblings, Anita Carter, Nashville, Tenn., Mark Weisbrot, Amherst, Marlene Wrobleski, Rhinelander, and Alan (Theresa) Weisbrot, Nashville, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
