Mr. Kussman, was born June 8, 1932, in Amherst, a son of the late Allen and Regina (Konopacki) Kussman. In 1950 he graduated from Amherst High School and continued his education at Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.
He was married to Shirley Kauth Jan. 17, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
He began his employment at Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids as an electrician. He retired from Consolidated as an electrical superintendent in 1990 after 35 years of service.
He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. His ministry was dedicated to the property and financial committee.
For several years he and his wife spent their winters in Pharr, Texas where he volunteered at the orphanage in Renosa, Mexico, and played Santa at the Migrant Head Start.
He and his wife visited all 50 states and other countries such as Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; four daughters, Beth (Joe) Horwath, West Allis, Cheryl (Jeff) Sisco, Wisconsin Rapids, Amy (Mike) Brandl, Genesse, and Lisa (Ben) Green, Overland Park, Kan.; two sons, Gary (Noriko) Kussman, Redondo Beach, Calif., and Keith, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Gene (Shirley), Wisconsin Rapids, and John (Judy) Kussman, Columbus, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard.
