Saturday, March 1, marks the first day of Wisconsin’s early catch-and-release trout season. The only thing standing between anglers and the fish is deep snow and ice-choked streams. I for one will wait for Mother Nature to melt the snow pack and ice.
Rest assured, some die-hard trout hunters will be out at the crack of dawn fishing open stretches of water. Missing opening day of this early season is not an option for the dedicated few. But they may have to travel south to wet their lines.
