The Portage County Board of Supervisors approved a $9.8 million loan for financing Capital Improvement Plan projects at the board’s Tuesday, Feb. 17, meeting. The vote was unanimous with 20 members voting yes and five board members excused.
The loan is down from the $12.1 million quoted in the initial resolution adopted by the board Nov. 13, 2013. The amount came down because the cost of one of the projects the money was to be used for, repairing County Road X, was far less than originally predicted, said Jennifer Jossie, the finance director for Portage County.
The projects in the Capital Improvement Plan also include an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) and a radio upgrade to the County’s simulcast system.
