The grant provides the district with $2.76 million, to be used during the next three years, for the purpose of raising technology skills for students and teachers. The only portion not approved by the board was any portion of the grant related to the technology professional development center.
The grant continues Sentry’s technology partnership that has provided laptops to every student in grades 9-12. Phase II maintains the one-to-on student-computer ratio for all students grades 9-12 and expands it to include grades 7 and 8. Computers, tablets and Chromebooks will also provided on a one-to-three ratio for students in grades K-6.
