Gene R. Moe, 82, Iola, formerly of Scandinavia, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Scandinavia Lutheran Church in Scandinavia, with the Rev. Mark E. Sabin officiating. Burial will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Scandinavia in Waupaca County.
Visitation will be at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the service.

Mr. Moe was born June 11, 1931, in Scandinavia, a son of the late Oscar and Hannah (Knutson) Moe.
He was married to Marian Andersen July 18, 1953, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa. She died Oct 22, 2001.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of American Legion Post 14 in Iola.
He was a truck driver for Dushek Trucking and then worked as a fork lift driver for the Waupaca Foundry for 22 years.
He played baseball for the Scandinavia Vikings for more than 20 years and also managed the team for a couple of years.
Survivors include four sons, Bob (Marsha) and Dale (Janice), both of Iola, David (Patty Lund), Hortonville, and John (Paula), Oconto; two daughters, Julie (Bob) Komer, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Sally (Emery) Olson, Scandinavia; one brother, James (Elaine), King; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Zachary.
