Rodney Roy Peronto, 83, Stevens Point, formerly of Madison, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Shuda-Plover Funeral Home in Plover.

Mr. Peronto was born July 29, 1930, in Crandon, a son of the late Archie and Sadie Peronto. He was a graduate of Madison West High School.
He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he majored in philosophy.
He served in the military during the Korean War.
He was married to Martha Jean Baumgartner Sept. 3, 1955.
He made Madison his home for more than 70 years.
He worked for Greyhound bus lines and later drove truck for Capital Cartage.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; one son, Thomas (Jan), Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Julie (Dave) Hott, Oconomowoc; one sister, Sue Glidewell, Illinois; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
