Sherwood G. “Woody” Holt, 92, a former Consolidated Papers director, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his home in Minneapolis, Minn., of congestive heart failure.
Per his request, there will be no service.

Mr. Holt was born in 1921 in Warsaw, N.Y., and grew up in Ithaca, N.Y.
He earned a biomedical engineering degree and doctorate from Cornell University.
He was a World War II veteran assigned to the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C. from 1943-47.
He spent most of his working life in the paper industry, was president of TAPPI from 1981-82 and retired as director of research and development for Consolidated Papers in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; five daughters, Deborah Heelis, Martha Holt, Amy Holt Wick, Krista Thoe and Kari Thoe Crone; three sons, Jonathan, Douglas and David; one sister, Judith Wachob; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
