A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola, with the Rev. Dennis Olson officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Monday until the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iola American Legion Post 14 in Iola.

Mr. Peterson was born July 29, 1930, in Iola, a son of the late Anton and Margaret (Wrolstad) Peterson. He graduated from Rosholt High School in 1948.
He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during the Korean War.
He was married to Sharon L. Schmidt Oct 25, 1958 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Big Falls.
He was involved in the trucking business all his life. He operated Wright Trucking in Iola with his brother-in-law, Roger Wright, for five years. He worked for Dushek Trucking for more than 25 years and also Ort Trucking, Anthony Farms and Trzebiatowski Pickle Farm.
He was a lifelong member of the Iola American Legion Post 14.
Survivors include his wife, Iola; two daughters, Trudy (Wayne) Riley, South Carolina, and Mary (Chuck) Gipp, Iowa; one son, Eric (Patty De Voss), Iola; one brother, Ralph “Mike” (Arlette); one sister, Grace Jueds, Marion; one granddaughter, Kayla (Tom) Polak; and one great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Neal and Harold; one infant brother; and one sister, Harriett Ehlieter.
