Mary Samson, 91, Amherst Junction, formerly of Cleveland Heights and Solon, Ohio, and Sarasota, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at North Crest Living Assistance facility in Stevens Point, where she had lived for more than one year.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Gesu Catholic Church in University Heights, Ohio. Private burial will be at a later date.

Mrs. Samson was born Mary Fabio May 28, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was married to George Samson for 60 years. He preceded her in death.
She lived in the home at 1760 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, for 56 years.
When she was 55 years old she began working for Dr. Izant at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and sewed infant dresses for terminally ill babies and knitted them blankets so their mothers could see them in something other than hospital gowns.
After her husband died, she moved to Sarasota, Fla., for five years to be with one daughter, volunteering at the Selby Library and the Boys and Girls Club.
She later moved to Wisconsin to be with another daughter.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Lynne (Mark) Schmutzler, Amherst Junction, Georgia (David) Davis, University Heights, Ohio, and Marilynne (Ken) Bolek, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Carmen Herald, Sun City, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nina Restifo, Roze Peterman and Josephine Fabio.
