Mr. Jacobson was born March 19, 1934, in Big Rapids, Mich., a son of the late Raymond and Vivienne (Fish) Jacobson Sr.
He served aboard a destroyer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Upon his honorable discharge, he worked in Milwaukee for AT&T, later transferring to Stevens Point to work for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co.
He was married to Susan Weber May 19, 1973. They later divorced but remained life-long friends.
Survivors include two children, Janice (Mark) Diestler and Jesse Jacobson, both of Stevens Point; one brother, Stanley (Pat), Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jacob, Jillian and Nicklas; and his former wife.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Brown.
