A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Santa Catalina Catholic Church in Tucson, Ariz.

Mrs. Rise was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline (Meronek) Ziolkowski. She attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School and Maria High School.
She was married to Gary Wandschneider. They had three daughters.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in speech therapy.
She spent many years as a teacher in Spokane, Wash., and earned a master’s degree in early childhood education.
She was married to Geary Rise Jan. 1, 1992, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
To this union he brought his two daughters, Jill and Julie.
She volunteered in the Peace Corps, Habitat for Humanity and two years teaching on a Navajo Reservation. She also knitted hats and shawls for Santa Catalina Catholic Church and read to children.
They moved to Saddlebrooke in 2008 and she continued her volunteer work in the Saddlebrooke community.
Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Jill (Jim) Meyers, Wake Forest, N.C., Valeta (Martin) Sweet, Spokane, Wash., Julie (Greg) Hayes, Dunedin, Fla., Yvette (Mike) Himsl, Kalispell, Mont., and Eydiejo (Alexei) Kurchan, Wallingford, Pa.; four sisters, Barbara (Gene) Johnson and Margie (Tom) Birrenkott, both of Sun Prairie, Linda (Tom) Manske, Stevens Point, and Jan (Jim) Roth, Wisconsin Rapids; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
