A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Shuda – Plover Family Funeral Home, with hospice chaplain Joanne Chase officiating. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the service.
A memorial will be established in her name for macular degeneration and glaucoma foundations.

Mrs. Eickendorf was born May 26, 1916, in Wonewoc, a daughter of the late C.H. and Gladys (Beaty) Babcock. Her elementary education was in a rural one-room schoolhouse in Trempealeau County. She often spent the day with her father, who was a depot agent and learned Morse Code with the telegraph. She graduated from Galesville High School in 1934.
After graduation, she went to Chicago and was employed by the CEO of the Spiegel May Stearns family as a nanny.
She was married to Vilas Van Vleet. They divorced in 1949.
The family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin Rapids and Milwaukee, before coming to Plover.
She began her career at Sentry Insurance as a supervisor in the statistical department, transposing all written information into numerical form.
She was married to Roman J. Eickendorf in 1953. He died in 1983.
The couple owned and operated Eickendorf Floral for 35 years.
After retirement, she spent winters in the Towerpoint Resort in Mesa, Ariz.
She was a member of the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Plover Methodist Church, where she was in the choir for many years. She kept a daily journal for 69 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Borchardt, Plover, and Gloria (Jack) Leo, Spring Valley; six grandchildren, Sheri (Brian) Mortenson, Mike (Lesley) Wiemann, Eric Wiemann, Gwen (Alan) Dombrowski, Craig (Kelly) Borchardt and Lee Borchardt; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth (Jack) Olson.
