Americans – we’re a wasteful lot.
Most of us know that Americans waste too much. On a recent trip to Alabama, a group of friends were sitting around after dinner, and as we looked at what was left on our plates, one of them confessed that he and his wife are too wasteful. “I bet we throw out over $100 worth of food a month,” he told us.
Much of his waste is in “leftovers.” They just don’t like them. We know people of all ages who disdain leftover foods, and toss them regularly. “Nobody wants to eat them,” they explain.
