We’ve lost a giant.
George Rogers, a man to whom most of us owe a measure of gratitude, died this week. I’m quite sure that George, a humble man, would be pleased if we’d now just refer to him as a newspaper reporter.
But his body of work, his wisdom, his demeanor, his dedication, his breadth of knowledge, his quiet, dry sense of humor and his unassuming nature earned him a much more prestigious title. He cared for our community, and I think that’s his legacy.
