A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church in Stevens Point.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Evelyn M. and Keith F. Lea Memorial Scholarship in the School of Education at UWSP, telephone 715-346-2040.
Mr. Lea was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Amherst, a son of the late Earl and Jessie Lea.
He served in the Navy during World War II, rising to the rank of lieutenant junior grade.
He received degrees from Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point (now UWSP) and Indiana University at Bloomington, Ind.
He was married to Evelyn Mae Markwardt. She died in 2007.
Keith worked for the Milwaukee Sentinel for many years, worked for the Stevens Point School District and was Director of Library Technology Services at UW-Stevens Point, retiring in 1986.
He also worked for the Milwaukee Sentinel for many years.
After retirement, he and his wife moved to Plover, spending the winter months in Kerrville, Texas. During their retirement they traveled to the British Isles, Europe and most of the United States.
He was a longtime member of Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church and was active in the Lions Club.
Survivors include one son, Mark (Mimi), Lake Mills; one daughter, Marsha (Steve) Morrison, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
