Mrs. Anday, formerly of Hungary, was born Nov. 16, 1920, a daughter of the late Georg Mohl and Margit Vanya.
She was married to Antal Anday April 8, 1940, at Nagy Becskerek, Yugoslavia. He preceded her in death.
She fled with her daughter and two sons from the Communist rule in Hungary, where her husband, a teacher and a government official, had been imprisoned, to a refugee camp in Innsbruck, Austria, and came to the United States in 1959, settling in Merrill.
She was fluent in many languages.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgine Kurland, Michigan; two sons, Alex (Carol) Anday, Eagle River, and Anton (Mary Beth) Anday, Plover, five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Ede Anday; four brothers, two sisters, and one son-in-law, Lester Kurland.
