Walter “Scottie” Scott, 89, a former Plainfield and Hancock resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fox Lake.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, until the service.

Mr. Scott was born July 31, 1924, a son of the late Peter and Grace (Glick) Scott of Hancock. He worked on the County Line Road near Waupun where he met his wife.
He was married to Betty Flagel Sept. 24, 1946. She died in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Army.
After the service they moved to Fox Lake. There he worked at La Della Plastic, later being relocated and renamed Robin Manufacturing. He worked there until 1970. He ended his working career at Del-Monte in Markesan and retired in 1987.
He traveled the United States and settled in Rock Port, Texas. There he joined the American Legion and served as a chaplain for a number of years.
He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fox Lake and, upon returning to the area in 2000, rejoined the Fox Lake Legion. He spent the remainder of his life in the Hancock, Plainfield and the Fox Lake areas.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Scott) Eugene Riha, Beaver Dam; one grandson Jason (Colleen) Scott, Plover; three granddaughters, Tisha (Longseth) David Indermuehle, Sarah Longseth and Krista (Longseth) Jason Roberts, all of Beaver Dam; two great-grandsons; and one daughter-in-law, Ann Marie Scott, Plainfield.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Randy; one brother; and two sisters.
