Services will be at noon Friday, Sept. 20, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Dick Rozumalski officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of services.

Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Wiergate, Texas, a son of the late Grover and Bertha (Napper) Johnson.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Sept. 25, 1947, in Houston. He served as a corporal and was discharged Jan. 16, 1951, from Sewart Air Force Base in Tennessee.
After his honorable discharge, he began his career at Western Electric (now AT&T). He worked in Texas and in Wisconsin as a technician until his retirement in 1988. He earned his pilot license and flew a Cessna.
He was married to Edwina Walczak-Grote, Oct. 22, 1988, in Texas.
The couple settled in Stevens Point until moving to Wisconsin Rapids in 1992.
Survivors include his family, Tom Grote, Atlanta, Ga., Lori (Doug) Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mike (Mendy) Grote, Stevens Point; two brothers, Doyle (Barbara) Johnson, Galveston, Texas, and LaVert (Claire) Johnson, Abilene, Texas; and two grandchildren, Chace and Lexi Grote, Stevens Point.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, G.C. (Inez) Johnson, and two sisters, Mary Wilson and Frances Johnson Ruiz.
