Mary Margaret Phillip, 62, Woodruff, a former Stevens Point resident, teacher and sister of a Stevens Point woman, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff. She had been battling cancer for three years.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Pine Grove Community Church in Rhinelander. A private burial will be held in Stevens Point at a later date.

Ms. Phillip was born March 27, 1951, a daughter of the late Gerald and Jean Phillip.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in English.
She taught elementary grades through high school in Germany, Stevens Point and Rhinelander.
She was active in Northwoods Knitters and Pearlers, Women’s Outdoor Group and Pine Grove Community Church in Rhinelander.
Survivors include four sisters, Kathy Phillip, Marshfield, Nancy (Jim) Jensen, Hazelhurst, Ann Phillip, Stevens Point, and Jane (Ray) Pilguy, Ariz.; one brother, Gerard Phillip, Ariz.; three nephews; and two nieces.
