Irene Kieliszewski, 100, Germfask, Mich., a longtime Stevens Point resident, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at her residence.
No services will be held, per her request.
Mrs. Kieliszewski was born Aug. 5, 1913, in Chicago, Ill., the middle child of the late Jacob and Jozefa (Skowronski) Posluszny. She lived in Chicago until her family moved to Stevens Point when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Emerson High School in Stevens Point.
She was married to Michael Kieliszewski June 20, 1933. He died Aug. 15, 1982.
Brought up speaking Polish, she worked for Worzalla Publishing Co., translating for Gwiazda Polarna, the Polish newspaper.
Her family observed her 100th birthday Aug. 5 in Germfask, Mich, holding a party, and family members traveled from Stevens Point; Milwaukee; Texas; Madison; Cleveland Wis.; Racine; California; and Kentucky to attend.
She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Survivors include three daughters, Maxine (Chet) Wroblewski, Junction City, Kathy (Ambrose) Cyran, Curtis, Mich., and Bridget (Dennis) Luczak, Felch, Mich.; one son, Dalbert “Bucky” (Elaine), Stevens Point; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-stepgrandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jim; one sister, Henrietta L. Kawleski Lewis; one brother, Anthony Posluszny; and one grandchild.
