University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) Chancellor Bernie Patterson announced during his State of the University address Wednesday, Aug. 28, that a big step forward has been made for a new science building.
“The piece we’ve been waiting for occurred last week when the department of facilities issued a request for architectural and engineering services,” Patterson said. “We are going under contract to hire the architects and engineers to design this building, and now we know it’s a done deal.”
Contractors have been invited to submit letters of interest for the $75 million project.
“This building will realize a significant return on investment for the students of UWSP and for the taxpayers of Wisconsin,” Patterson said. “The new facility will help us best prepare students for careers in today’s technology and knowledge-based global economy.”
