Gov. Scott Walker and Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC), announced the designation of the city’s East Park Commerce Center as “Certified in Wisconsin” at a news conference in the Pinery Room of the Portage County Public Library Thursday, July 11.
East Park, which was created last year, is the 12th site in the state to be certified as a development-ready site that has been reviewed and approved by WEDC as meeting certain development criteria.
“This certification will help Stevens Point attract new businesses to its community by having a 760-acre site certified as development-ready,” said Walker. “I commend the city for its commitment to achieve this site certification. This is just one more economic development tool to accelerate business start-up and growth in Stevens Point and in Wisconsin.”
