A Mass was held Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Visitation was at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point Tuesday and at the church Wednesday.

Mr. Mortensen was born Feb. 13, 1951, in Madison, a son of Leo Mortensen and the late Jill Mortensen. He graduated from Brookfield Central High School in 1969 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1973.
After being stationed in Georgia and Oklahoma, he was married to Beth McDonald on Dec. 23, 1977, in Milwaukee, and a second ceremony followed on March 4, 1978, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
He served as an artillery officer in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1995. During this time he and Beth took their family on assignments to Panama, Michigan, Tennessee, Kansas, California, Thailand and Wisconsin. While stationed in Michigan, he earned an MBA from the University of Detroit in 1985.
Following his retirement from the Army, he began a second career in Stevens Point as a senior programmer in financial services for FIS.
He played tennis and wallyball, and was involved in the Stevens Point Curling Club.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Jennifer (Kyle Quinn) Mortensen, Medford, Mass.; one son Jeffrey (Rachel Winkler), Madison; his father, Sturgeon Bay; and two sisters, Dian (Ron) Ray, Midland, Texas, and Jamie (Wayne) Knight, Green Bay.
