Jean M. Loken, 77, Iola, an Amherst native, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
A funeral service was held Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola, with the Rev. Dennis Olson officiating. Burial was in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Scandinavia in Waupaca County.
Visitation was at Voie Funeral Home in Iola Sunday and at the church Monday.
A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. Loken was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Amherst, a daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice (Dwinell) Thompson.
She was married to Donald Loken on June 26, 1954, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
She had worked in food service and then as a cook for the Iola-Scandinavia Schools for 17 years.
She volunteered at the Iola Car Show since 1976 and Meals on Wheels for more than 15 years. With her family she prepared the annual Thanksgiving Day dinner at Our Savior’s for 20 years. She was active in her church rummaging for items for the layettes and was a member of the Naomi Circle.
Survivors include her husband; six children, Kim Loken, Dale (Pam) Loken, Kathryn Loken, Janel (Jon) Peterson, Jill (Terry) Lodewegen and Jon (Susan) Loken; and seven grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine and Mary Elizabeth; and one brother, Thomas Thompson.
