The Sixers return two starters from last year’s team that finished 22-10 and advanced to the AAA Region 2 Tournament Championship Game for the second year in a row.
After a 1-4 start to this season, Point pulled itself back to .500 on Tuesday, June 25, as it used a walk-off single from catcher Caleb Bembenek with one-out in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat Wausau 8-7 at Bukolt Park.
“It’s a whole new group of guys coming from three different schools, and we have to jell a little bit,” said Sixers manager Luke Suchon. “We’re going to have our ups and our downs, but as long as we come in and work hard every single game, every single inning, we’re going to give ourselves a chance to win.
“And then once we find our groove, we’re going to be a hard team to beat,” said Suchon.
