James Alan Potter, 74, Peoria, Ariz., brother of a Plover woman, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Youngtown, Ariz., after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Potter was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Appleton, a son of the late Raymond and Mildred (Tracy) Potter. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1957.
He joined the Marines and was honorably discharged.
He was married to Barbara Ann Ponschock in 1961.
They moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1963 and have lived in that area since that time.
Survivors include his wife; one son, David (Margaret), Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Judith (Peter) Zimmerman, Plover, and Kristine (Robert) Filz, Mesa, Ariz.; and two granddaughters.
