Carol Jean Kertis, 71, town of Grant, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Daniel Bohn officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and again from 10 a.m. Saturday until the services.
Mrs. Kertis was born April 9, 1942, in the town of Lincoln in Adams County, a daughter of Tressie (Nelson) Courter and the late John Courter.
She was married Laverne “Bud” Kertis on Nov. 28, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. He died on Sept. 13, 2009.
She worked for various food industry companies in the area as a production worker, including Celestial Farms, Ore Ida and McCain Foods.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (Eric) Stigen, Etowah, Tenn.; Laurie (James “Ace”) Anderson and Linda Kertis, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one son, Laverne Kertis Jr., Elgin, Ill.; her mother, Tressie Courter, Bancroft; one sister, Virginia (Jerry) Hansen, Bancroft; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Keenlance; and one brother, Donald Courter.
