A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph, with the Rev. Rolando and Rev. Chester Osowski concelebrating.
Visitation will be at the church from 8 a.m. Saturday, May 25, until the Mass.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Rudolph Grotto Fund.
Higgins Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids assisted with arrangements.
Mrs. Hartjes was born Feb. 12, 1926, in the town of Linwood in Portage County, a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Schiltz) Zimmerman.
She was married to Merton Hartjes on July 20, 1946, at St. Philip Church in Rudolph. He preceded her in death.
She was known for heirloom quilts and table runners. She was a member of Homemakers, Christian Mothers and the Monday Ladies Card Club. From spring through fall she also worked in the flower beds at the Grotto Gardens or in the Gift Shop.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Kathy) and Roger (Cindy), both of Rudolph; three daughters, Connie (Dave) Jagodzinski, Port Edwards, and Kris (Jerry) Willfahrt and Jackie (Phil) Slattery, both of Rudolph; three sisters; Isabel Konkol, Adeline Peters and Irene Hartjes; one brother, Val Zimmerman; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Henry; one sister, Marian; and one grandson.
