Bruno S. Maziarka, 89, Stevens Point, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Stevens Point Care Center in Whiting.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, May 14, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial was in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Mr. Maziarka was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Posen, Ill., a son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Tylka) Maziarka. As a child his family moved to Stevens Point and he continued his schooling.
He entered the United States Army on Nov. 12, 1942, in Milwaukee. He earned the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver Battle Star, and three overseas service medals. He was discharged Dec. 5, 1944, at Fort Sheridan, Ill.
After his honorable discharge he returned to Stevens Point.
He was married to Gladys Brillowski on June 1, 1946, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
The couple settled in Stevens Point, and he worked at the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1979.
He was a leisure golfer and accomplished the rare “Hole in One” feat.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Edward (Marsha), Stevens Point; one daughter, Brenda (Richard) Baltzell, Plover; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.
