Lorraine J. Hajec, 91, Stevens Point, formerly of the town of Guenther in Marathon County, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Stevens Point Care Center while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in the town of Knowlton, with the Rev. James Arthur officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in the town of Knowlton.
Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, until the services.
Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hajec was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Thomas and Julie (Wisniowska) Wojcik.
She was married to Benjamin Hajec on Oct. 2, 1943, in Chicago, Ill. He died Nov. 12, 2006.
She and her husband moved from Chicago to the town of Guenther in 1948, where they operated a dairy farm for the rest of their lives.
She also was a seamstress and worked on crafts.
Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Joseph (Agnes) Mikes, Mosinee, and Edward (Ann) Hajec, Brookfield; three sisters-in-law, Consuela Litza, Hatley, Eugenia Amen, Junction City, and Delores Wentland, Madison; and many nieces and nephews.
