A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Custer, with the Rev. Jude Dioka officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, until the Mass.

Mr. Herek was born Aug. 28, 1913, in the town of Stockton, a son of the late Vincent and Frances (Berna) Herek.
He was married to Verona Biadasz on Nov. 21, 1942, at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in the Town of Stockton. His wife, Verona survives.
He operated a dairy farm until 1978 when he sold it to one of his sons. He helped his son farm for as long as he was able to.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Marlene Koshollek, Plover; three sons, Maynard (Bonnie), and Myron (Marcie), both of Stevens Point, and Jerry (Sally), Amherst; one brother, Vincent Herek Jr., Custer; one sister, Delores Yenter, Stevens Point; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Roman; seven sisters, Laura Haka, Angeline Zblewski, Regina Tiedke, Sally Wroblewski/Jensen, Frances Wanta, Evelyn Biadasz and Eleanor Golomski; and one son-in-law, Benedict Koshollek.
