Florence S. Feltz, 92, Waupaca, a town of Plover native and mother of two Amherst residents, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
A celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted with arrangements.
Mrs. Feltz was born Oct. 23, 1920, on the family farm in the town of Plover, a daughter of Laurence Lee and Ethel Violet Hale. After graduating from Central State Teacher’s College (now the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point), she taught in country schools in the Plover area.
She was married to Elmer B. Feltz on Sept. 2, 1943, in Clovis, N.M., where he was stationed in the Army Air Corps (now the Air Force).
Shortly after returning to Wisconsin, the couple moved to Waupaca where she was a homemaker.
Her husband made a career change, and she helped him manage a real estate business with United Farm until their retirement. They then spent many years traveling with their RV. When traveling slowed down, they built a home and spent several years there before moving to the veterans’ home in 2006.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Laurence (Mary), Ridgefield, Wash., and Alan Feltz, Amherst; one daughter Judy Feltz-Lain, Amherst; and six grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by stepfather Orville E. Parks; one sister, Elizabeth (Floyd) Folz; and one grandson.
