Dennis W. Lynch, 65, Winona, Minn., a former Stevens Point police officer, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home from complications of colon cancer.
A service will be held at noon Saturday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, Minn., with Jenny Hoff officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Benton County Cemetery in Sauk Rapids, Minn.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Mr. Lynch was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Rhinelander, a son of Russell and JoAnn (Rayford) Lynch. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
He was married to Rita Sandy in May 1976.
He worked his way through school as a bus driver. After graduating from college he became a police officer for the city of Stevens Point and worked on his master’s degree in public administration through UW-Oshkosh.
After nearly a decade as a police officer he and his wife opened the Little Professor Book Center in Winona, Minn. He also bought into Quality Laser Products.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ryan (Melissa), and Sean; two brothers, Douglas (Sherry) Lynch, Tampa, Fla. and Don (Sue) Lynch, Minocqua.
