Thomas R. “Tom” Lind, 51, Green Bay, son of a Stevens Point couple, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at his home following a seven-year battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home in Green Bay, with the Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and again from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service.
A memorial fund has been established for his children’s education.

Mr. Lind was born April 24, 1961, in Stevens Point, a son of Robert and Camille (Turzenski) Lind. He attended school at Stevens Point Area Senior High School and played on the hockey team as a goalie, graduating in 1979.
Following high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Century College in White Bear Lake and the Police Science Program at NWTC.
He began his career with the Green Bay Police Department in 1983 and was currently working as a detective. He was also employed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in the boating enforcement division.
Survivors include three children, Claira Mae Lind, Mitchell Lind and Jordan Lind, all of Green Bay; his ex-wife and friend, Vicki Lind, Green Bay; his parents, Robert and Camille Lind, Stevens Point; and one sister, Nancy Lind, Normal, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Clara Lind; his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Clara Lind; and his maternal grandparents, Max and Claira Turzenski.
