Gladys Pils Nelson, 91, Waupaca, a former Plover resident, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Plover Room of the Elizabeth Inn in Plover.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca assisted with arrangements.
Mrs. Nelson was born Jan. 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Pils.
She was married to Robert Stewart Nelson in 1944. The couple met during World War II. She served in the Women’s Army Corps and he served in military intelligence. He preceded her in death.
After the war, they resided in Chicago.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Fred) Forseth; one brother Joseph Pils; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Laura Leigh Nelson and Judith Ann Courtney.
