The 33rd annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23, at 5 Star Lanes, 1960 Post Road, Plover.
The largest annual fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bowl for Kids’ Sake features participants securing sponsors (pledges) and then coming to the event to have fun and enjoy the party.
Sharon Jakusz, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin, said this year’s goal is to raise $57,000 and she’s cautiously optimistic the event will be able to raise that amount, which is less than was raised in 2011.
Her caution, she said, is based on scheduling conflicts. “It appears that a lot of longtime bowlers are saying they are not available that weekend,” she said, “so others will have to step up to help meet the goal.
“It’s a busy weekend. Teams that have bowled for at least the last four years say they can’t make it this year,” she said. “The community is so busy.”
