Rex C. Davis, 78, Green Lake, a Stevens Point native, died Wednesday Feb. 13, 2013, at the Meriter Hospital in Madison.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home, Berlin, with Pastor Scott Piper officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, until the service.

Mr. Davis was born Nov. 4, 1934, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Lawrence and Neva (Henze) Davis. He attended P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point.
He was married to Nancy G. Gehrke on Aug. 31, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point.
He attended Central State Teachers College (now the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point), receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1958 and later earned a master’s degree from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
He was employed by Mayville High School as a mathematics teacher for two years and then Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point and Allstate Insurance Co. in Northbrook, Ill., as an actuary for 27 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and was an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry, Okeechobee, Fla., and Jason (Jasmine), Northbrook, Ill.; one sister, Mary Lou (Leroy) Sroda, Green Bay; one brother, James, Milwaukee; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Haidu; one brother, Jack; and one sister, Betty McDermott.
