Bernard “Ben” Ostrowski, 84, Wisconsin Rapids, an Almond native, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Rolando Onden officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the services. A parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be designated to St. Lawrence Church or Assumption High School.

Mr. Ostrowski was born April 29, 1928, in Almond, a son of the late Sylvester and Josephine (Lescynski) Ostrowski.
He was married to Joan “Shirley” Czerniak on April 23, 1950, in Chicago, Ill. She died March 6, 2011.
He was a lineman/superintendent for the Water Works & Lighting Commission for 40 years.
He was a member of the St. Lawrence Holy Name Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters, IBEW Local 1147 and the Knights of Columbus, Council 1558. He founded Northern Tree Service in the early 1950s.
Survivors include four sons, Edward (Jolene), Wisconsin Rapids, Rick (Mary Jo), Egg Harbor, Michael (Gina), Eau Claire, and David (Laurie), Superior; five daughters, Mary Lou (Jerry) Pasto, Mount Aukum, Calif., Sandy (David) Mancl, De Pere, Susie (Mark Motylinski) Ostrowski, Holmen, Diane Ostrowski, Cadott, and Nancy (Steve) Schinderle, Laveen, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie; three brothers, John, Edward and George; four sisters, Jean Keening, Sophie Wire, Jane Wesolowski and Martha Rutta; and two grandchildren.
