Robert W. “Bobby” Klaips, 62, a former Stevens Point resident and the father of a Stevens Point man, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
A memorial service was held at Family Oasis Victory Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 9. Burial will be held in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, Wis., at a later date.
Mr. Klaips was born Jan. 4, 1951, in Nebraska, a son of the late Raymond and Patricia A. (Wilkinson) Klaips Sr. The family moved to Stevens Point when he was growing up.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was married to Dorothy Jungwirth.
He was later married to Denise Winkler.
Survivors include his fiancée, Amy Pelletier; one daughter, Loralee (Philip) Cambron; one sister, Sandra Ostrowski; five brothers, Raymond Jr. (Lori), Stevens Point, Patrick, Harold “Marty,” James “Barry” and Timothy; three grandchildren; four stepchildren, Lisa Pence, Landon (Lyz) Winkler, Chelsea (Nathan) Alpaugh and Evan (Lynn) Pelletier.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Justin; and one grandson.
