With the start of a year-long assessment of its technology needs last week, Portage County aims to replace many of its outdated computer systems starting in 2014.
“This is a huge deal for us to take this on,” said Portage County Executive Patty Dreier about the $117,479 assessment being conducted by Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP.
Shelley L. Fulla, a senior manager with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause said the purpose of the assessment is to provide consulting services for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System for Portage County.
She said this system will provide mainly financial and human resource functions for the entire county government, including updated financial and HR software programs, noting the ERP is not just software, as the proposed consulting approach will assist Portage County in assessing business needs and assisting in the selection of the entire financial and HR system, including software, hardware and importantly, work flows and processes.
