Leo C. Kontney, 74, Stevens Point, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Northridge Assisted Living in Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Parish in Torun, with the Rev. Gregory Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Kontney was born July 3, 1938, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Leon and Pauline (Gburek) Kontney.
He entered the U.S. Army after high school. After his honorable discharge he settled in Milwaukee.
He was married to Judith Frieberg on Nov. 13, 1970, in Milwaukee. They later divorced.
He worked as a machinist for the Ladish Mfg. Co. until his retirement.
He moved to Stevens Point in 1996 and to Northridge in 2010.
Survivors include one son, Kurt (Tracy); two daughters, Kim (Jeff) Kazumura and Kelly Grotkiewicz; three sisters, Antoinette (Jerry) Jelinski, Lillian Babiak and Theresa (Donald) Maslowski; and eight grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rosie (Edward) Wiza, Clara Gotz and Elizabeth (Joseph) Babiak; and three brothers, Anton, Benedict and Joseph.
