Melvin “Coney” Joosten, 89, formerly of Rudolph, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Harmony House in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at St. Philip Catholic Church in Rudolph, with the Rev. Rolando Onden officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.

Mr. Joosten was born March 24, 1923, in Rudolph, a son of the late Martin and Anna (Stelzer) Joosten.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. He served in Northern France and Central Europe where he earned the Victory Medal, three Bronze Stars and four Overseas Service Bars.
He was married to Eleanor Ubinger on Aug. 5, 1953, in Rudolph. She died on Dec. 19, 1997.
He was employed at the Biron Division of Consolidated Papers Inc. as an oiler for more than 40 years.
Mr. Joosten was a member of American Legion Post 485 of Rudolph and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include two sons, Doug (Noreen Adams), Wisconsin Rapids, and Dale, Rudolph; one daughter, D’Ann (Alan) Breit, Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, Donald, Wisconsin Rapids, and Jesse (Marge), Rudolph; one sister, Dorothy Moscicki, California; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Warren and Gene.
