For the first time in 11 years, the Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) boys swimming team will have a chance to claim the Wisconsin Valley Conference (WVC) Title.
The Panthers are 3-0 in the WVC this season, including a win over seven-time defending champion Wausau East, heading into their regular season finale against D.C. Everest at home at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.
SPASH will then look to wrap up its first Conference Title since 2002 when it competes at the WVC Meet at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31.
“Our season has been going really well,” said senior Joel Harris. “We’ve accomplished all of our team goals up to this point and we haven’t lost a dual meet.
“And all of the invites we’ve attended, we’ve been holding our own with the good teams in the state,” said Harris.
“It’s a great team; a coach’s dream,” said second-year SPASH boys swimming head coach Bob Allen. “They’re just a great group of guys, and they work real hard.
