The former Vetter Mfg. Co. at 2116 Wood St., Stevens Point, was purchased last month by local businessman Wayne Bushman’s Junction City-based Wood Street Properties LLC.
Plans for the facility are not yet known as Bushman could not be reached for comment.
The historic industrial site has been vacant since SNE Enterprises shut down its operations there in February 2002, consolidating operations in its now closed Mosinee facility.
The Vetter site is considered Stevens Point’s first industrial park. Its factory and warehouse, built in 1909 and 1915 respectively, were identified as historic resources in a recent Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) sponsored architectural/historical survey of Stevens Point’s built environment.
