Despite losing six seniors from last year’s Central Wisconsin Conference-10 (CWC-10) Champion, the Almond-Bancroft boys basketball team has remained in the hunt for the Conference Title this season.
The Eagles were 10-2 overall and 8-1 in the CWC-10 entering their matchup at Port Edwards (8-5, 7-3) on Tuesday, Jan. 15, where they fell behind 25-16 at halftime.
Almond rallied in the third quarter to make it a close game throughout the second half, as it was still within 42-39 with 1:34 left, but Port pulled away at the free-throw line for a 48-42 victory.
