James Emerson “Poochie” Brikowski, 50, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton after suffering a heart attack.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Plover-Shuda Funeral Home in Plover. An informal get together will follow at Mikey’s Grill in Plover.
A memorial in his name will be established to help various animal shelters in the surrounding areas.

Mr. Brikowski was born Feb. 20, 1962, a son of James Brikowski and the late Ellen (Emerson) Brikowski. He graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School in 1980 and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1984 with a business degree.
After working at several businesses in the Stevens Point area he moved to Appleton to further his career. He was currently employed at New Holland Transportation.
Survivors include his father, Arizona; two sisters, Beth Brikowski, Stevens Point, and Jennifer (Anthony) Jones, Crystal, Minn.; and two nieces.
