Elvira F. (Gonitzke) Bain, 90, formerly of Fall Creek, mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Bethany Lutheran Home in Sioux Falls, S.D., where she had been residing.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fall Creek, with the Rev. Larry Borgelt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, until the service.
A memorial will be established in her name.

Mrs. Bain was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Eau Claire, a daughter of the late Gustav and Julia (Pieske) Gonitzke.
She was married to Marshall M. Bain on Dec. 4, 1943. He died in April 1986.
She was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, having been baptized, confirmed and married there. She taught Sunday school, was a member of the Ladies Society and LWML, and sewed quilts for World Relief. She volunteered at Bethesda resale shop and served as manager until her husband became ill, and afterward until she left the area due to health concerns.
Survivors include one son, Howard (Karen), Eau Claire; three daughters, Annette (Arnold) Rasmussen, Stevens Point, Cynthia (the Rev. Dr. Carroll) Marohl, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Emilie (Chuck) Zimbrick, Fremont, Calif.; two sisters, Leora Sieg and Arlene Lauterbach; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth.
